Terms & Conditions

Ability to Embark / Disembark Vessel

Generally our tours and water taxi services are suitable for anyone with agility to get on / off the vessel with some assistance if required.  In the interest of safety and taking weather considerations into account and boat movement, the Skipper has the authority to decline passengers who do not have the ability to embark / disembark safely with assistance.

Children

Children must be accompanied by parents / guardians, who are required to supervise the children in their care at all times.

Some tours are not suitable for infants or young children and this is indicated on the tour pages of this website.

Luggage

Luggage including backpacks are manually loaded onto the boat and must be packed in manageable weights.

Weather and Sea Conditions

We only travel in suitable weather and sea conditions and at the discretion of the Skipper.

Details of all Party Members

We are required to obtain information on all party members: names, medical conditions and disabilities.

If you are required to carry medication for the duration of your tour or an independent trip for which we have provided a water taxi service, we recommend that you ensure you have your medication with you before your departure.

Alteration of Itineraries

We reserve the right to alter or amend an itinerary for a cruise/ pelagic birding or water taxi or hunter transport if weather and sea conditiions require us to do so, or for any unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

We will however, endeavour to ensure that we meet your needs, subject to safety considerations.

Payment

We require payment for all our tours and services at the time of booking.  Payment can be made via:

  • Cash
  • Credit Card
  • New Zealand cheque made payable to Ruggedy Range™ Wilderness Experience
  • New Zealand bank transfer (bank account details will be supplied at the time of booking).

Cancellations By You

As a small business with a relatively short season, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for our time and lost income.

Cancellation of Cruises / Pelagic Birding / Freshwater River-Mason Bay Package

  • 20% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled upto 15 days prior to departure for cruises / pelagic / Freshwater River-Mason Bay Package
  • 50% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled from 14 to 8 days of departure
  • 100% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled within 7 days of departure.

Cancellation of Water Taxi Charters (day walkers / trampers / hikers)

  • 20% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled upto 8 days of departure
  • 50% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled from 7 to 3 days of departure
  • 100% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled within 2 days of departure.

Cancellation of Hunter Transport

  • 20% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled upto 8 days of departure
  • 50% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled from 7 to 3 days of departure
  • 100% cancellation fee charged for bookings cancelled within 2 days of departure.

Cancellations By Us

If for circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to honour our bookings, including because of unsuitable weather or sea conditions, we will refund your monies in full.

Your Privacy

In our business dealings with you, we agree not to give your personal details to third parties, except as required by law.

We agree not to use your contact details to market our tours and services, unless you have allowed us to do so in writing.

We may use images that include you or publish your feedback on our website, brochures or other marketing material, unless you request we do not do so, in writing.
